Nancy Winters, Charlotte Real Estate Broker named in 2008 "FIVE STAR: Best in Client Satisfaction"

December 20, 2008 - Charlotte, NC:  Nancy Winters, Real Estate Broker and Charlotte Relocation Specialist with Exit Realty Advantage in Charlotte, North Carolina named one of this year's "FIVE STAR: Best in Client Satisfaction" real estate agents.

Nancy's sincere commitment to her client's best interests is what she attributes this recognition to. "I put my heart and soul into my work and those I come in contact with. I take great pride in knowing that my knowledge, experience and concern for others can have such a positive impact in their lives, especially when it involves their greatest assest which is usually their home."

Charlotte Magazine formed a partnership with Crescendo Business Services, an independent research firm, to identify the “best in client satisfaction” real estate agents serving the Charlotte area. Crescendo surveyed 30,000 Charlotte area residents who had recently purchased homes. An additional 250 surveys were sent to mortgage and title companies, who are often best able to judge a real estate agent’s technical skills and knowledge.

Recipients were asked to evaluate only real estate agents whom they knew through personal experience. They were asked to evaluate them based upon nine criteria, including, customer service, integrity, market knowledge, communication, negotiation, closing preparation, finding the right home, marketing of the home and overall satisfaction. Before finalizing the list, nominated agents were reviewed by a blue ribbon panel of local industry experts.

Nancy specializes in helping individuals and families relocate to the Charlotte area of North Carolina . Having moved and traveled throughout the world much of her life, she is familiar with the excitement and upheaval that comes with navigating new surroundings and a new home.

This year’s list of “FIVE STAR: Best in Client Satisfaction” real estate agents represents less than 4 percent of actively licensed real estate agents in the Charlotte area. The 2008 FIVE STAR Real Estate Agents do not pay a fee to be included in the research or the final list of FIVE STAR: Best in Client Satisfaction Real Estate Agents.

New Controversial Approach to School Evaluations May Help Families Relocating to Charlotte, NC

March 22, 2009- Charlotte, NC: Families relocating to the Charlotte area are often concerned about finding the best schools for their children. Traditionally, parents could research and evaluate schools solely on state mandated test scores or drop out rates. A radical new evaluation process may provide a more useful perspective of what really happens in our classrooms.

According to an article in The Charlotte Observer, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg school system (CMS) is in the process of evaluating all schools and "detailing everything from student behavior to the principals' leadership to parent involvement."

"While the reports are produced mainly for the educators who can use them to improve, they give the public a rare, detailed description of classroom quality."

CMS's new School Quality Reviews attempts to reflect what goes on in the classroom, not just a look at overall student test scores. The goal is to help school's recognize their shortcomings, celebrate their successes and replicate great work.

According to the article, an eight-page report will eventually be generated on each school using these six measures:

  • Achievement
  • Are students making progress? Is the school getting strong students to the highest level and providing effective help for weak ones?
  • Curriculum
  • Is the school not only teaching what the state requires, but finding ways to make the lessons interesting and relevant?
  • Learning and teaching
  • Are students engaged in independent thinking, group work and high-level reasoning? Can teachers reach students with different needs?
  • Leadership
  • Do the principal and assistants have a good grasp of the schools strengths and weaknesses and a plan to improve? Are they getting the faculty, families and community to buy in?
  • Learning environment
  • Is the school safe, clean and welcoming? Do students care about succeeding and respect their teachers?
  • Parent/community involvement
  • Are parents involved and informed? Are churches, businesses or other groups working as partners?

Stabilizing Housing Prices May Have Positive Effect on Charlotte, NC Real Estate Market

Stabilizing Housing Prices May Have Positive Effect on Charlotte, NC Real Estate Market

March 15, 2009 - Charlotte, NC: According to a recent article in BusinessWeek, housing prices are improving significantly and inventory is shrinking in markets that were hardest hit during the real estate downturn. California, Florida, Arizona, Nevada and Michigan are seeing signs of improvement which is great news for the Charlotte relocation market.

For years, Charlotte and the Carolinas have experienced a high volume of 'transplants' coming from more expensive areas, such as California and Florida as well as colder climate cities such as the upper midwest and northeast. Recently, those wanting to move to the Charlotte area have been unable to do so because of the difficulty in selling their homes elsewhere.

This report suggests encouraging news that the hardest hit areas may finally be turning a corner. As these markets begin to move, they will have a positive ripple effect on real estate markets in Charlotte and the Carolinas.

According to the article, housing sales are improving significantly in key ZIP codes around the country where prices have moderated, according to information compiled for BusinessWeek.com by First American CoreLogic.

ZIP codes in California, Florida, Arizona and Nevada dominated the list, but there were also ZIP codes on the top 25 most-improved sales list from the suburbs around Detroit and Minneapolis and in the metro areas of Atlanta and Chicago.

Inventories are shrinking and prices are stabilizing in several markets, according to the survey. Here are the top 10 ZIP codes with improved home sales:
  1. 94533, Fairfield, Calif. (Fresno)
  2. 92376, Rialto, Calif. (Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario)
  3. 91342, Slymar, Calif. (Los Angeles-Long Beach-Santa Ana)
  4. 92126, San Diego, Calif.
  5. 33914, Cape Coral, Fla. (Fort Meyers)
  6. 93065, Simi Valley, Calif. (Oxnard-Thousand Oaks-Ventura)
  7. 95123, San Jose, Calif.
  8. 85379, Surprise, Ariz. (Phoenix-Mesa-Scottsdale)
  9. 93722, Fresno, Calif. (Madera)
  10. 95624, Elks Grove, Calif. (Sacramento-Arden-Arcade-Roseville)

A Rewarding Annual Agents Awards Day for Exit Realty Advantage in Charlotte, NC

A Rewarding Annual Agents Awards Day for Exit Realty Advantage in Charlotte, NC

March 6, 2009 - Charlotte, NC: The Annual Agents Awards Day proved to be a most rewarding day for my brokerage firm, Exit Realty Advantage in Charlotte, North Carolina. Our office was honored to receive the top honors with a Platinum Award for the most closed transactions in North Carolina in 2008 for the second year in a row. Not bad for an 'interesting' year in real estate!

It was also exciting to see my colleagues Cam Barnett, III and Sember Smathers receive awards for placing in the top five amongst North Carolina agents in 2008.

I felt such pride to be in a room filled with so much enthusiasm and heart-felt love for our profession and those we serve. There is no doubt in my mind that my office would not have received these awards if it weren't for the genuine concern and dedication from George Fitser, Jerry Maschke and Mike Rash, the owners of Exit Realty Advantage and our office administrator, Windi Brady. They're the best!

Agents from all over North and South Carolina attended the day-long event which was hosted by our franchise owner, Exit Realty of the Carolinas. In addition to the awards ceremony, we enjoyed superb training sessions by Real Estate Web Trainer, Key Yessaad; Senior Regional Consultant, Bob McKinnon and President of Exit Realty U.S. Operations, Tami Bonnell.

While the Charlotte area remains one of the strongest real estate markets in the country, the past year presented some tough challenges for our buyers and sellers. I'm certain we'll continue to do all we can in 2009 to help our clients achieve their real estate goals, no matter what challenges may lie ahead.
